Our Services

At EDT, we specialize in personalized, relationship-driven dog training designed for owners who want more than the basics. Our work goes beyond obedience — focusing on confidence, communication, and connection that create lasting change and a stronger bond between a dog and their owner.

Because every dog and owner are unique, we take a thoughtful, selective approach to the clients we work with. We partner with owners who are committed to the process — people who want to understand their dog on a deeper level and are ready to put in the time to build lasting results.

We strive to address the root cause of behavioral issues and create the structure, trust, and balance needed for long-term success. Our clients are proactive by nature — seeking not just to correct problems, but to cultivate calm, confident, and cooperative dogs who thrive at home and in the real world.

In Person Evaluation

$150

Your dog’s training journey begins with an in-home evaluation. During this session, Mike will observe your dog’s behavior in real-world situations — how they respond to their surroundings, people, and other dogs — to better understand their temperament, confidence, and communication style.

This 2-hour evaluation also gives Mike the opportunity to learn about your goals, challenges, and daily routines so he can determine how to best support you and your dog moving forward. Together, you’ll discuss what life with your dog looks like now — and what you’d like it to become.

The evaluation is an essential first step in creating a customized training plan that fits your lifestyle and sets you and your dog up for lasting success. It’s also a chance for Mike to meet you — and, of course, to get to know your furry friend as well.

Private Lessons - For Puppies 6 Months & Older and Adult Dogs (Five 90-Minute Lessons)

$625

Our private lessons are designed to help you build a stronger, more meaningful relationship with your dog through teaching clear communication, creating structure, and developing trust. You’ll learn how to meet your dog’s needs in a biologically fulfilling way while shaping calm, confident behavior at home and out in the world.

Each session is highly customized to your goals and your dog’s unique personality. We’ll work on setting a solid foundation and then real-life scenarios, address problem behaviors, and focus on developing skills that create long-term success. Homework will be assigned between sessions, and clients are encouraged to send videos for review to ensure steady progress and consistency.

Private lessons typically take place at locations chosen to support your dog’s development — whether that’s your home, a public setting, or another environment where real-world behavior can be observed. Because we use play and active training methods, owners should wear comfortable shoes and attire.

We recommend keeping a training journal to track notes, wins, and questions as you go. If specific tools are needed, we’ll guide you through safe, ethical options and explain how and why they’re used. We only use methods and tools we trust — always with the goal of clear communication, fairness, and minimizing stress for your dog.

Our approach isn’t just about training; it’s about creating a reliable support system for you and your dog — helping you both grow, succeed, and enjoy the process along the way.

Puppy Coaching Sessions - For Puppies 5 Months & Younger (Per 45-Minute Lesson)

$80

We love working with owners who want to take a proactive approach to raising a well-behaved dog. Our Puppy Coaching program helps you build the right foundation early — focusing on confidence, structure, and communication in a positive, hands-on way.

These sessions are designed to get you started off strong in your home environment. We’ll help you navigate crate training, socialization, potty training, and the early habits that shape your puppy’s future behavior.

During this stage, our goal is to prevent common issues before they start — guiding you through puppy management techniques that keep your dog engaged, confident, and calm as they grow.

We make it fun and educational for both ends of the leash, supporting you through this important stage of your puppy’s development so you can raise a balanced, happy companion from the very beginning.

Board and Train

weekly rate starts at $750

Our Board and Train service is available exclusively to active clients already working with us through private lessons or an ongoing training plan. This structure helps ensure continuity, consistency, and the best possible results for both dog and owner.

Each program is tailored to your goals and the length of stay is determined in advance during your consultation. While in our care, your dog will live with Mike and his family, enjoying a structured home environment designed for comfort and focus. Every dog has its own sleeping area to ensure safety and a calm atmosphere.

Once your dog has settled in, we’ll schedule regular owner sessions. You’ll meet with Mike to learn, practice, and reinforce what your dog is learning — because owner participation is critical for lasting results. These sessions also help prevent regression when your dog transitions back home.

On Go-Home Day, Mike will spend approximately two hours with you and your dog to review progress, practice new skills together, and transfer important information for ongoing success.

All Board and Train clients also receive 8–10 hours of post-program education, ensuring you have the tools, understanding, and confidence to maintain your dog’s progress long after they return home.

Virtual Coaching Sessions

$80

At Engaged Dog Training (EDT), we offer 45-minute virtual coaching sessions for clients who are actively enrolled in private training. These sessions are a great way to get additional support in between your regular lessons, whenever you feel you need a little extra help. We understand that life with your dog can present unexpected challenges, and our goal is to provide guidance that helps keep your progress moving forward. While these virtual sessions can be a helpful tool, they’re meant to complement, not replace, your in-person sessions.

At EDT, we believe in a balanced approach—training isn’t just about the dog, but about empowering you as the owner. We focus on educating both sides of the leash, helping you communicate effectively with your dog to foster lasting, meaningful change in your relationship.

Group Classes

Our group classes are kept small and personal, and are available only to clients actively enrolled in training or who've completed training. This ensures that both you and your dog are prepared and ready to work in real-world environments.

Each class focuses on helping you and your dog apply skills learned in private lessons to everyday situations — with distractions, other dogs, and new settings. Group sessions are designed to strengthen confidence, reliability, and communication between you and your dog.

Class times and dates will be posted for current clients in advance so you can reserve your spot. These sessions are a great way to practice, learn, and have fun alongside like-minded owners in a supportive, judgment-free environment that encourages continued growth.

Day Training

Starting at $125 per day | 6 hours

Our Day Training service is ideal for dogs working through behavioral challenges or in need of ongoing support between lessons. We understand that consistency is key—but everyone needs a break sometimes.

During your dog’s stay, our trainer will continue working on the behaviors and goals discussed in your training plan. Each session includes structured training time, real-world exposure, and socialization opportunities with other dogs.

Your dog will spend the day learning, playing, and practicing good habits in the trainer’s home alongside his pack or out and about practicing skills in real-life situations, returning home mentally fulfilled and on track toward your training goals.
